The Great Rivers Festival at the National Great Rivers Museum in East Alton is planned for Saturday.  From noon – 7pm, you are invited to the river banks as the museum has planned a full day of live music, food and drink, and local vendors along with live bird shows and an appearance by Serengetti Steve: The Reptile Experience.

Park Ranger Tommy Smith says there will be a number of other activities, including catch-and-release trout fishing, birdhouse building, sand and chalk art, and lessons on how to catch and prepare Asian Carp.  He tells the Big Z there will also be a number of tours of the lock and dam.
