More than one-million people worldwide die of lung cancer each year, including more than 150-thousand in the United States. A big reason for that is tobacco use, according to the American Cancer Society. Thursday is the Great American Smokeout, and the OSF St. Anthony’s Hospital is urging all tobacco users to use this day as a starting point to kick the habit.

There will be Smokeout events tomorrow at both the OSF St. Anthony’s and OSF St. Clare’s Hospital campuses from 11:30am – 1pm. You can register to win a free turkey, and get information on how to quit. For more information, call 465-2264.
