The Great Rivers Choral Society is set to wrap up its season this weekend a special program entitled "Remembering Broadway. The show will include a variety of well known medleys from musicals like South Pacific, Jersey Boys, Sister Act and Les Miserables.

Two years ago the organization decided to make all concerts free to the public with the hopes that it would increase attendance and lead to more donations.  GRCS member Paul Guccione says it was the right decision.

Guccione Comments

He says both attendance and donations have increased as a result of the free performances and that they have been forced to turn people away at the door because of the popularity of some of their concerts.

The first of two scheduled concerts this weekend will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday evening inside the gymnasium at the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Godfrey. A second performance will take place on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. in the gym.
