A local prospective grocery store recently held a fundraising event with a turnout of around 200 neighbors. Now the store is at the four-fifths  point in the campaign to provide healthy affordable food to the Riverbend area.  If Grassroots can manage to raise another $50,000 then the store will open 30 days following the count of the final penny of the fifty grand goal. Vice President of the non profit organization Community Cultivators Christine Favilla says they would be grateful for any help.

As grassroots are currently forming initial inventory, local food providers can apply to be a vender. They are in need of produce in particular. You can donate or register on their website at grassrootsgrocery.org.
