Have you ever been stuck in traffic trying to leave Alton's Gordon Moore Park?  If so, there's good news.  The city has received a grant that will allow them add exit lanes and improve the intersection at the park.

The grant takes federal money administered through IDOT and the East-West Gateway Council of Governments, according to Alton Public Works Director Bob Barnhart.  He tells The Big Z this grant will be welcome news for anyone that uses the park.

There is one final approval the city must receive to officially receive the grant, but Barnhart says that is just a formality at this point.  He says actual construction on the project won't likely begin until 2018.
