It has been 60 years since the last trip of the Dinky between Alton and Grafton, but many people remember it fondly. A replica of the converted bus was brought to Grafton to stay last summer. Now, there is a push on to recognize even more of the town’s history.
Grafton Mayor Tom Thompson says they are submitting a grant that could lead to the establishment of a Grafton Museum.

Thompson says many people would be surprised to learn there is a connection between Grafton and St. Louis architecture- many of the stones used to build the Eads Bridge and other historic buildings was quarried in Grafton.
