The Grafton Ferry is now open.  The boat connecting Grafton to St. Charles County, Missouri, opened today and will allow visitors to cut about 30 minutes off their drive time to the tourist town.   The Grafton Ferry will be open on Friday and Saturday from 10am to 10pm and on Sunday from 8am to 8pm through the fall.

The Grafton Ferry is operated by the Calhoun Ferry Company which also operates the Golden Eagle Ferry in Calhoun County.  The Illinois side of the landing is located near the Grafton Lighthouse and the public boat ramp off Market Street in Grafton. On the Missouri side, the landing is located at the end of Grafton Ferry Road, just off of Highway 94.
