Illinois American Water is officially taking over sewer operations in Grafton.  A unanimous vote by the Grafton City Council this week finalizes the deal that has been in the works much of the year.  Grafton Mayor Tom Thompson tells The Big Z the water company is better suited to efficiently run a system of that size.

Water company officials say customers shouldn’t notice any change as the town switches to this public – private partnership.  The sale price is $600,000 according to Thompson.  He also notes the Grafton Ferry should be back in operation next Friday, July 24th.
