A $3.4 billion road project will create 65,000 new jobs by 2040. The U.S. Department of Transportation has approved the final agreement which allows the state to move forward on expanding the Elgin O’Hare Expressway. The project will extend the existing Elgin O'Hare Expressway to the western edge of O’Hare Airport where it will link up with a new bypass road that will take drivers either south to the I-294 Tri-State Tollway or north to the I-90 Jane Addams Memorial Tollway.
