Pat Quinn wouldn’t say where or when it will be signed it to law, but he would say the marriage equality bill would be signed into law sometime in November, and when it happens it’s going to be big. “We’re going to make an arrangement so lots and lots of people can come to the ceremony,” Quinn said Wednesday in Springfield.

“And I think it’s important to have an opportunity for people who worked so hard in the community to pass marriage quality to have an opportunity to be at the bill signing.” Illinois will be the 15th state to legalize gay marriage, and Quinn says that shows how welcoming and tolerant the state is. He hopes it encourages other states to follow.
