Governor Pat Quinn just got his annual flu shot, and he’s hoping you will do the same. Each year, about five to 20 percent of people in the U.S. come down with the flu this time of year. For most, it’s a mild inconvenience, but for others, the flu can be deadly.
Seniors, young children and those with chronic medical conditions are more susceptible to complications from the flu. The vaccine is usually available as a shot, a nasal spray, and now for adults, as a smaller shot that pricks just underneath the skin.
