Governor Quinn is celebrating five years in office. He says the state was in horrible shape when he took over, but under his leadership, the state is rebounding and turning things around. Quinn says he’ll keep working to ensure things continue to improve. This year, he wants to invest more money into childhood education, invest in roads and bridges, and raise the minimum wage to ten-bucks an hour.

Quinn also wants to implement a job readiness program, to ensure people have the skills they need to earn more money. He says all of these things will help make the state become more competitive in the workplace.
