A Chicago-area legislator is urging the governor to eliminate the state's so-called "tampon tax."  Senator Melinda Bush of Grayslake is sponsoring a measure to get rid of the state sales tax on feminine hygiene products like tampons and pads.

They are currently taxed at 6 1/4% statewide, and as much as 10 1/4% in Chicago.

Both the House and Senate have passed the bill but it must be signed into law by the governor.
