Republican lawmakers are calling on voters to end lame duck sessions. As a group, they say too many major policy issues are passing when outgoing lawmakers no longer have to answer for their vote.

Republicans are asking voters to approve a constitutional amendment that would require lawmakers to wrap up their work before the general election. The measure could be on the ballot this November.
