The top Republican in the Illinois Senate is optimistic that pension reform will happen before the end of the legislative session. Senate Minority Leader Christine Radogno (R-Lemont, pictured) believes that pension reform will likely come towards the end of the session. Between now and then, she hopes the final package doesn’t lack real reforms.
“I just hope that whatever happens doesn’t get watered down so much between now and the end of session that it doesn’t really address the problem,” Radogno said. Both the House and Senate have passed portions of pension reform legislation. Radogno says the task now is to cobble them together and create a bill that would get a majority in each chamber.
