A warm and dry week led to a good week for corn planting.  12 percent of the corn crop is now planted, up from two percent the previous week.  That compared to 11% in the ground at this time last year according to State Crop Statistician Mark Schleusener.

66% of the wheat crop is rated in good to excellent condition.  Average statewide topsoil moisture dropped a bit to one percent very short, nine percent short, 74 percent adequate, and 16 percent surplus.
