When you’re paid the people’s money to do the people’s business, your severance package should be visible to the people as well. That’s the idea behind a bill introduced by State Rep. Margo McDermed (R-Mokena).  “This came about because of the work that RTA, Metra, and the whole scandal associated with this last year,” McDermed said, referring to a $442,000 payout to now former transit chief Alex Clifford.

“Of course, it couldn’t be more topical this year because what happens but COD walks into the same morass.”
College of DuPage trustees Wednesday voted to award outgoing president Robert Breuder a $762,000 severance deal. McDermed’s bill would apply to any agency already subject to the Freedom of Information Act.
