A 20-year-old Godfrey woman is dead following a one vehicle crash in West Alton, Missouri, Tuesday afternoon. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Alyssa M. Bell was traveling southbound on Highway 67 just north of Highway 94 when she failed to negotiate a curve and left the highway, striking a tree. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash happened just before 2pm Tuesday. Bell was the lone occupant of the 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt and she was wearing her sealbelt. She was student at Lewis and Clark Community College and was employed at Olga's Kitchen at Alton Square. Arrangements are being handled by the Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey with visitation Friday from 4-7pm and a funeral Mass Saturday at 10:30am at St. Mary's Church in Alton.
