Is there a feud brewing in the Godfrey Township offices? A heated discussion at this week’s Board of Trustees meeting pits Township Supervisor Doug Mueller against Assessor Monica Star Jerrells. While the tension has apparently been brewing for years, a recent request for information by Mueller apparently led to the situation boiling over in the public forum.
Mueller has requested documents of Jerrells through the FOIA Act, which means for every document that contains personal information such as social security numbers, that information must be redacted before it is sent on to the person requesting it. Jerrels says she feels Mueller is treating her unfairly:

Mueller says this is strictly a professional difference of opinion:

Jerrells feels the tension between her and Mueller dates back several years, possibly beginning when she first came to work for the township when Eldon “Twirp” Williams was in office.
