A gaming business that had eyes on Godfrey will not be setting up shop in the village.  Representatives of the Fork Restaurant Group recently approached the village about placing a “Ruby’s” location at Monticello Plaza, according to Godfrey Mayor Mike McCormick.  He tells The Big Z following a conversation at this week’s Finance Committee meeting, it is apparent this will not happen.

McCormick says the village did not pass an ordinance to eliminate video gaming when it was first introduced a couple of years ago, but resolved to limit the businesses that could host them to the ones that were already doing business in Godfrey.  To have video gaming, state law stipulates a business must have a liquor license that allows for the sale of alcoholic beverages by the drink.
