Godfrey's Village Board will consider a budget ordinance for the coming fiscal year at its next meeting in June.  First reading was given to an appropriations ordinance on Tuesday that reflects no significant change from the previous year.  A public hearing on the budget will precede the June 21 Village Board meeting.

He credits "a good group of trustees" and an effort to not spend money they don't have with keeping the village's finances in good shape.  Last December the village reduced its tax levy by 2%, which has become standard practice over the past several years.
