Godfrey Mayor Mike McCormick continues to get his strength back following open-heart surgery last October.  The surgery repaired a leaky valve, which he says has been a concern of his for a number of years.  He now says he may reconsider his self-imposed two-term limit as the village’s Mayor.

He says a number of get well cards following his surgery also included messages urging him to run a third time.

McCormick has been an elected official in Godfrey since voters placed him on the village board in 2005.  He successfully challenged then-Mayor Mike Campion in 2009, and has held the seat ever since.
