Residents in Godfrey’s Ridgefield Subdivision along Pierce Lane may get some relief from storm water runoff issues. A neighboring field is apparently the source of the water, and a plan has been hatched to dam some of the waterways to slow the flow, but not redirect the water. The Village Board has voted to proceed with engineering on the project.
Trustee Jeff Weber says since the field is farmed every year, there is no vegetation to slow down or absorb runoff.

Stumpf says “skin in the game” means a financial stake. Weber was concerned about setting a precedent of going onto private property to make repairs, but Trustee Sarah Johnes said she sees this as a way to protect the village’s streets from damage, and any benefit to the homeowners is a bonus.
