Candy Days are approaching for the Godfrey Lions Club. The service group has been around for more than 50 years, serving those in need in Alton and Godfrey and will be out collecting donations this weekend in exchange for a roll of candy. One hundred percent of the money collected this weekend will be used to help people in our area and any donation is welcome.
The group collects used hearing aids and glasses which are refurbished for use in 3rd world countries. Locally, they assist people in financial need in our area in obtaining glasses or hearing aids. Group member Heidi Todd says some of the money collected this weekend will help send children to camp:
Godfrey Lions members will be out Friday and Saturday at the intersection of Broadway and State, and College and Washington in Alton. They will also be outside the Godfrey Schnuck's store.
