The new regulations that will be kicking in next year under the Affordable Health Care Act, or Obamacare as some call it, is causing the Village of Godfrey to examine how it does business.  At issue is the large number of part-time workers the village employs, mostly through the Park & Recreation activities.

Another concern is cutting back on services.  Mayor Mike McCormick says it is his understanding there is a fine of $2,000 per employee that is not covered by insurance.   There is still plenty of confusion surrounding the new federal law.  Further discussion is expected at next month's first meeting.
