Cowboy Slim’s Smokehouse and Saloon in Godfrey is closed for good, after representatives failed to show up at a recent liquor license hearing. The restaurant in the 7100 block of Montclaire Avenue was closed in June due to a violation of the liquor license rules. They did not have dram shop insurance.
Godfrey Mayor Mike McCormick says the hearing was held in their absence, the liquor license was permanently suspended, and the village levied a fine and court costs against the owners.

The business has been open about 6 months as Cowboy Slim’s. Before that, it had been run as The Rotten Apple, Sycamore Inn, and Sid’s Roadhouse at various times.
