Families in Godfrey that want to divvy up their farm amongst family members will have an easier time doing so, following village board action Tuesday night. Previously a piece of land could only be subdivided once, but now a subdivision minor can be divided into as many as four lots, as long as each lot has access to an existing street.
Mayor Mike McCormick says this is a common-sense piece of legislation.

In other board action, the street department will be ordering materials for its Road Oil projects, which will oil and chip certain streets the week of August 18; the Park & Recreation Department will seek bids to reseal parking lots at Glazebrook Park; and an agreement has apparently been reached with the Village of Brighton to repair Venus and Mars Drives in the Springhaven Subdivision following work on the water lines. That area is served by Brighton Water.
