Federal charges have been filed against a Glen Carbon man in connection with an armed robbery at a Maryville gas station last week. 53-year-old Jonathan Michael Malone was indicted by a federal grand jury for armed robbery with a firearm and other charges following the alleged incident at the One Stop Shop Gas Station on January 14.
Authorities say Malone, who has a previous armed robbery conviction, entered the store and threatened the owner with a handgun. In addition to the armed robbery charge, he is charged with brandishing a firearm and felon in possession of a firearm. Due to his previous conviction, Malone faces up to life in prison for the various charges.
