A Madison County Jury has convicted 27-year-old Tavon K Ludy of the Murder of 5-year-old Torian Whitaker in September of 2013. Ludy was originally charged with two counts of First Degree Murder, a class M felony, and Aggravated Battery to a Child, A class 3 felony, from abuse allegations involving another child in the home.
Ludy is facing 20-60 years in prison with the conviction, however Ludy is eligible for an extended sentence of 60-100 years due to Torian's age at the time of his murder. Ludy also is facing 2-5 years for the Aggravated Battery to a Child charge. Ludy will remain in custody at the Madison County Jail in Edwardsville until sentencing by Circuit Judge Kyle Napp can occur.
