Eagle watching will draw thousands of people to the Riverbend over the next several months to see what is normally a huge number of the birds nesting in our area. The Alton Regional Convention and Visitor's Bureau has recently published its annual Eagle Watchers Guide, but another guide will not be seen this year.
In recent years, the agency has published a Holiday Guide, but CVB President Brett Stawar says that wasn’t possible this year.

The Eagle Watchers Guide, however, is being distributed now. Stawar says the Riverbend is a great location for eagle watching, with the confluence of the Mississippi, Missouri and Illinois Rivers attracting the birds as they fly south once the rivers begin to ice over to the north.
