Gay rights advocates are hoping lawmakers vote to legalize same sex marriage when they return to session next week. But Political Scientist Kent Redfield says they may push the issue into next year.
Redfield says lawmakers may not want a potential primary opponent to use a yes or a no vote against them in the primary. But, putting all politics aside, it seems the roll-call is inching toward 60 votes as more lawmakers come out in favor of gay marriage. Supporters are planning to hold a march in Springfield next Tuesday.
