The price of a gallon of gas would go down, under a proposal a state lawmaker is sponsoring. State Rep. Sue Scherer (D-Decatur) wants to repeal the state’s sales tax on gasoline.  “The working class is overtaxed and pays more than their fair share of the burden,” says Scherer,“and, I hate to say it, but it's the truth: the very tippy-top have all kinds of perks that the working class doesn't have, and by giving these people a little bit of a break on their gas tax, then that would give them an opportunity to take that money, and put it into other things in our economy.”
