The price of gas in Illinois is rising. The statewide average is $3.95, according to the Triple-A Fuel Gauge Report. That’s up 15 cents over the last month. Beth Mosher of the Triple-A Chicago Motor Club says much of the increase is seasonal, but there’s another factor too.

“We also were affected somewhat by the floods, and even the perception that production could have been affected by the floods really caused prices to skyrocket, which is what we saw in the past couple of weeks or so,” she said.
