The price of gas is up from a month ago, but it’s on its way back down. The Illinois average is now $2.60, up 15 cents from a month ago, according AAA Fuel Gauge report. Beth Mosher, spokesman for the AAA-Chicago Motor Club, says refinery maintenance caused a crimped supply and a price spike, but that’s now resolved. “We had some refinery issues in March that happened just in Illinois, but we’re seeing prices come back down. Over the past week they’ve come down around nine cents, and we think that prices are gonna remain relatively mild as we head into the driving season in the summer,” she said.
