A community is making plans to remember the four young victims of a fatal fire. The siblings, ranging in age from five to 12, were unable to escape the heavy flames that broke out in their Percy, Illinois home on Friday. The Randolph County Coroner determined they all died from smoke inhalation. Their parents and one other child managed to escape.
Funeral services are set for tomorrow afternoon in nearby Steeleville, Illinois. Thirty-three-year-old Derrick Twardoski remains in custody, accused of setting the deadly blaze. Investigators haven't released a possible motive, or revealed any connection between Twardoski and the victims. Yesterday, more than 200 people gathered in a local park to pray for the family.
