Free legal help is something many people need in these tough economic times, and the practice of offering Pro Bono work is being promoted by lawyers in Madison County.  The Third Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee has helped over 111 people since the clinic opened in October of last year, including 48 in the second quarter of this year.  The goal is to more effectively deliver free legal help to low income families, the disabled, and other vulnerable persons within the county.

The second and fourth Tuesdays of each month, the clinics take place at the Law Library in the Madison County Courthouse.  Madison County Judge Barbara Crowder says the clinics are operated by appointment only.
