A former River Bend resident is dealing with another storm and is hopeful it's more bark than bite. Ryan Maher is a former Alton resident who has lived in New Orleans since 1997, and lived through Hurricane Katrina seven years ago. He says with Hurricane Isaac bearing down on the gulf coast, there is a little more anxiety knowing what happened with Katrina, but he's confident his neighbors are ready.
Maher says he lives on the higher ground, which means he should escape flooding, but will have to still deal with the rain and wind:
The forecast is calling for up to 20 inches of rain for the gulf coast impacted by the hurricane, then some of the leftover rain will make it's way to the Midwest by the end of the week.
