Former Gov. Jim Edgar (pictured) says his fellow Republicans do a great job of appealing to their base. Their problem, he says, is there are not enough people in their base.  “Republicans didn’t do well with Hispanics” last week, Edgar says, “and they didn’t do well with women – particularly single women."

"And that’s not new, but it’s getting to be more and more of a problem, because, particularly, the Hispanics are growing, and the number of single women apparently are growing, and they’re not voting Republican.”   Edgar was part of a panel that conducted an autopsy on the election Tuesday in Springfield.
