Former Congressman Jesse Jackson Junior is headed to prison. The Illinois Democrat was sentenced in a DC federal court to 30 months in prison for misusing roughly 750-thousand dollars in campaign funds. He also failed to report the money on his tax forms. Meantime, Jackson's wife Sandi was sentenced to one year in prison for tax fraud.

Jackson resigned from Congress last year. Prosecutors accused Jackson of essentially stealing campaign cash to support a lavish lifestyle. Seeking some leniency in the sentence, Jackson's lawyers argued that he suffers from severe depression and bipolar disorder. Jackson is the son of civil rights activist Reverend Jesse Jackson.
