Jackson resigned from Congress last year.  Prosecutors accused Jackson of essentially stealing campaign cash to support a lavish lifestyle.  Seeking some leniency in the sentence, Jackson's lawyers argued that he suffers from severe depression and bipolar disorder.  Jackson is the son of civil rights activist Reverend Jesse Jackson.
