More than three times as much food goes out of the Central Illinois Food Bank as 12 years ago, when Pam Molitoris started with the organization.
“More and more people need help on a regular basis, not just on an emergency basis,” says Molitoris, executive director of the Springfield-based food bank. She says in her first year on the job, she gave out about 3 million pounds of food, as opposed to this year’s 10.3 million pounds.
