A 32-year-old Florissant, MO man is in custody after leading officers from several jurisdictions on a high-speed chase this (Monday) morning. It all began around 11am in Litchfield near Lake Lou Yeager when Illinois State Police Trooper Calvin Dye tells The Big Z an Illinois Department of Conservation police officer attempted to make a traffic stop.

The pursuit continued onto westbound I-270, where Jason R. Jenkins allegedly ran over stop-sticks placed on the roadway. Dye says with some of the newer model cars, the tires are made to withstand puncture for a period of time before going flat. Once they did, Jenkins pulled off of the interstate and into a strip mall off of West Florissant Avenue where he allegedly hit a parked car and fled on foot. He was taken into custody a short time later.
