Some good news for folks along the Mississippi: The water is going down.
Three rounds of flooding affected the river since April, due to lots of rain. But the Mississippi has now crested at many places in Iowa, Illinois and Missouri. Late this week, the river was still over four feet above flood stage in Burlington, Iowa, Quincy and Hannibal, but dropping.
