Even though some parts of Grafton are still under several feet of water, Mayor Tom Thompson wants people the know that most of the businesses are open and that the City will bounce back following the second major flood this year.

While some roads through town are still closed, Thompson says that there are simple detours in place that allow drivers to reach both ends of town.  He says that clean up efforts are just beginning in some areas and that early damage estimates have reached six figures.

Thompson says that the closure of the Great River Road was one of the biggest blows to Grafton's economy because they depend on the revenue generated by sales taxes to offset operational costs.
