Pere Marquette State Park is the site of the 21st annual Two Rivers Family Fishing Fair Saturday. The free event runs from 10am to 4pm and will gives kids of all ages, and their families, a chance to learn proper fishing techniques, water safety, and a chance to come home with prizes and maybe even a fish.
Organizer and park interpretor Scott Isringhausen says the popular entertainer Camo the Clown will be back, and Fredbird will also make an appearance. But, he says, the focus is on fishing and there will be plenty of hands on demonstrations.
There will also be a trout pond that kids can catch, and then volunteers will demonstrate how to clean it and other volunteers will then fry it up to eat. Other food and drink will be for sale on site, but all other activities and parking are free. A shuttle will be running between the parking and main grounds throughout the event.
