The launch of a new fish processing plant in Grafton has brought new business to the river town, but some neighbors have complained about the smell. Grafton Mayor Tom Thompson says the Asian Carp processing business has been a learning experience for all involved, but the owners appear to be on the right track.

The fish is being converted into fishmeal, which can be used as a food additive, and Omega 3 Oils, which has various uses. The facility is in a renovated building that was formerly used to store apples at the former Uncle Andy's Orchard on Illinois State Route 3.
