Following a 19 year run, organizers at Lewis & Clark Community College have decided not to host a First Night event this year. The popular alcohol and drug-free New Year’s Eve celebration featured family-friendly entertainment. The decision was made due to a number of factors, including the growing number of New Year’s Eve options for families and the rising cost of putting on the event.
College President Dr. Dale Chapman personally thanks all of the volunteers that made this event possible throughout the years.

He says the college currently considering creating a different type of event that will be held another time of year, as to not compete with the increasing number of New Year’s Eve activities throughout the Riverbend.
