The First Night Riverbend celebration is 19 years old this year, and the celebration is being planned again at the Lewis & Clark Community College.   It is now just about a week until families from around the area will celebrate the end of 2013 in a alcohol and drug-free environment.  After you have purchased your $10 button, which is your ticket to the event, food would be your only additional expense.

The celebration features live music, face painting, magicians, and other family-oriented entertainment.  As we first reported in November, the celebration is being scaled back to just one location this year, and from 3pm-7pm or so.  Co-organizer John Nell says with the changes comes the standard call for volunteers.

Nell says you can donate your time by calling 468-7500, or just show up at 2:30 New Year's Eve and tell them you want to help out.  For more information on First Night Riverbend, click here: www.lc.edu.FirstNight
