Starting on Monday February 8th Illinois will have its first ever Statewide 9-1-1 Administrator for the Illinois State Police. Cindy Barbara-Brelle has been appointed to the new position effective next Monday. Barbera-Brelle is the current Executive Director of the Northwest Central Dispatch System and is in charge of the day-to-day technical, administrative and operational functions of the multi-jurisdictional 9-1-1 communication center.
She was also formerly employed with Printrak where she was a Senior Program Manager and oversaw the implementation of multi-agency computer aided dispatch and record management systems. Barbera-Brelle received her Bachelor's Degree from Western Illinois University in law enforcement administration and holds a mster's degree from Depaul University and an MBA from the Keller School of Management. She says she is excited to serve as the first Statewide 9-1-1 Administrator and looks forward to working together with other agencies to improve the current system.
