Family Fun Fest is coming back to Godfrey in July, and this time it falls on July 4. The re-tooled event was moved last year to kick off the Independence Day weekend, and will again include fireworks. The Godfrey Village Board this week approved spending $7,000 on the display.

The festivities will run from 5-9pm at Glazebrook Park with the fireworks show over the park at 9:15. Godfrey Park and Recreation Director Kimberly Caughran says last year's event surpassed all expectations.

Caughran comments

There will be a climbing wall, zip line, arts & crafts, fire truck display, Mike the Balloon Guy, BeBe the Face Painting Clown, baseball throw, dunking booth, inflatables and vendors. A modest fireworks show begins at 9:15. For more information, call 466-1483 or go to the link:
