Riverbend residents will have a chance to take in more than a half dozen fireworks shows over the course of this week. The first official display is tonight in Bethalto at St. Louis Regional Airport, sponsored by the Cornerstone Church of Bethalto. Festivities on the grounds begin at 5pm with the fireworks in the air about 9:15.
Church Volunteer Jeremy Yates says they have a lot planned for the event:

Food and drink will be for sale on the grounds and no coolers or alcohol is allowed at the event. Bring a chair or blanket if you plan to stay for the fireworks. In Godfrey, residents around Beverly Farm on Humbert Road may want to keep an eye on the sky, as it will offer it’s annual display for residents and their families at dusk.
